35.137 - "Delightful evocation of the boudoir"

25 years old, distilled 25th August 1989, 52.8% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 87 bottles

DSC_0272The nose has vanilla and damson jam, with a hint of marzipan. The mouthfeel is thin, but very coating - it sticks to the tongue! The body has barley sugar water, caramel, marzipan and then some light sweet oak notes. The finish is light and short - vanilla and marzipan.

Water brings out thick, expanding whorling that settles into very long lasting mottling. The nose gains toffee pennies and kiwi fruit. The body has damson jam and apricot, alongside caramel. The finish is marzipan and kiwi fruit, with a little barley sugar.

An interesting dram that needed water to reach its full potential - one for showing those curious about whisky just what water can do for it.
