16 years old, distilled 19th April 1999, 60.1% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 228 bottles

The nose is big - with toffee, piles of hedge trimmings, and a little hint of acetate. The mouthfeel is smooth with very little cling. The body has soft smoke from a distant beach bonfire, seaweed and toffee. The finish is toffee and a hint of lime.

Water brings out tight, expanding whorling that didn't quite fill the glass but did linger for quite a while. The nose now has no acetate, but a little smoke and some old engine oil. The body has gained cloves and rosemary, and the finish also gains the rosemary.

The ideal dram for a summer's evening at the beach.
