11 years old, distilled 17th November 2003, 58.8% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 227 bottles

Pineapple, pepper and a little mango on the nose - some chilli and ginger too. The mouthfeel is smooth and has a little coating. The body is ginger, white pepper, cinnamon, chilli - too warm and sharp for my palate. The finish is cinnamon and toffee with a little pineapple.

Water brings out decent whorling which settles into lasting mottling. The nose now has more fruit and some leather notes - a hint of dusty old wardrobes? The body still has some warmth, but less than before - it gains some toffee and oranges. The finish has a little more of that old wardrobe note.

Too warm for me.
