12 years old, distilled 17th June 2003, 59.3% abv, first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, 90 bottles

The nose is big and bold, apples and hard pears with a little lavender and a hint of cinnamon. The mouthfeel is decent, with no cling but a good smoothness. The body has red apples, plums, damsons and a little bit of cinnamon and toffee. The finish is apple brandy and lavender.

Water brings out compact, short-lived whorling. The nose now gains maple syrup and honeyed notes. The body has gained honeyed notes and some black pepper towards the finish. The finish has gained a hint of lavender.

A great dram to put over ice-cream.
