G1.13 - "Summer Fete and flower shows"

36 years old, distilled 31st August 1978, 56.2% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 188 bottles

DSC_0257Banana bread, toffee, apricot and a hint of PVA glue on the nose. There's also a floral note - jasmine pot-pourri. The mouthfeel is sweet and sharp, very light - but not astringent. The body has caramel, ginger, wafer ice-creams, and a little bit of blackcurrant at the end. The finish is caramel and toffee.

I don't want to add water, but will... It brings thin, short-lived whorling. The nose gains more floral notes - violets and jasmine. The body is very light - watery, with more toffee and pot-pourri, less ginger. The finish is fleeting sweet floral notes.

A superb light dram, for a hot summer's morning. Afternoon. Evening. Night...
