100.20 - Kermit's kale knackwurst

11 years old, distilled 21st March 2007, 57.8% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead, 205 bottles, dram price B

The nose has herbal, vegetal notes - like a herb garden by a greenhouse on a hot summer's day. There's also a little hint of fresh cut grass. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has more indistinct herbal notes, and hints of lime. The finish has lime, fresh cut grass and herbal notes.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains lemongrass and lime. The body gains lemongrass, barley sugar water and loses the hint of lime. The finish gains barley sugar water and the lime becomes lemon.

A very light dram, more suitable for hot days. If I reviewed this on the right day in July I'm sure the scores would go up!

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
