9 years old, distilled 7th February 2008, 60.5% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 192 bottles, dram price C

The nose has soft bonfire smoke, fennel, and a hint of lemon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, bonfire smoke and a hint of cigar smoke. The finish is sweet citrus and bonfire smoke.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into decent mottling. The nose gains cigar smoke and hints of peat. The body has more smoke and some spiciness. The finish loses some of the sweetness, but gains more peat smoke.

A good peaty dram that brings a bit too much spice after water for my taste - but fine for a hip flask on bonfire night.
