The nose is a little closed - bonfire smoke and mineral notes, but nothing solid. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has tobacco leaves, wood stove smoke, nut oils and a little sea breeze. The finish is where the heavy peating reveals itself, with a growing smoke that dominates pleasingly.
Water brings out thick, rapidly spreading whorling that dissipates quickly. The nose gains vinegar and roasted nuts. The body gains more smoke - the heavy peating very apparent now! - and a little black pepper. The finish is still that pleasingly large smoke.
If you buy this, please check the batteries in your smoke detector...
