The nose has liniment and rock pools, with hints of smoked bacon. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has crisp wood smoke, honey, maple-cure smoked bacon, and hints of charred oak. The finish is crisp smoke and honey.
Water brings out tight, thin, short lived whorling. The nose gains more of the bacon notes, and loses the rock pools. The body gains more of the meat and less of the charred oak. The finish is unchanged.
A superb finisher for autumnal days.
(No picture - by the time I went back to take them, they'd run out!)
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
