SMWS 10.156 - Sherbet lemons on a sailboatThe nose has lemon, honey, sea breezes and a hint of mineral - flint? The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, salt, sea breezes and a hint of ash from a beach bonfire. The finish has lemon and salt, with ash.

Water brings out thin, tight whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains apricot and hessian, and loses the mineral note. The body gains apricot, pear and hints of liquorice. The finish has liquorice longside the lemon and ash.

An almost smokeless dram, with just that ash note - not what you would expect at all. And that's why you should try it.

One to drink on shorelines in autumn.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
