SMWS 108.15 - Turf cutter's teatimeThe nose is a little quiet - dusty summer earth tracks, ash from a cardboard fire, and a hint of almond. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has ash, almond nougat and brine. The finish has ash and dusty earth.

Water brings out thin whorling that settles quickly into lingering mottling. The nose gains dried bacon and loses the almond. The body gains a hint of caramel. The finish gains a little dried bacon.

A quiet whisky, but not uninteresting.

One for summer evenings.

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
