The nose has pineapple, apricot and hints of grapefruit. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, pineapple and apricot with a hint of oak. The finish has lemon and pineapple with a hint of grapefruit.
Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains more apricot and some peach, and loses the grapefruit. The body gains peach and some red apple, and loses the hint of oak. The finish gains peach and apricot and loses the pineapple.
A bit of a fruit bomb, this has youthful excess and plenty to enjoy.
One for summer afternoons.
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
