121.77 - "Dunnage warehouse orange boxes"

19 years old, distilled 15th November 1995, 53.4% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 276 bottles

The nose has oranges, balsa wood, and a hint of cinnamon. The mouth-feel is smooth and slight. The body has toffee, cinnamon and a little heat. The finish is dusty shelves and vanilla.

Water gives lasting, spreading thick whorls. The nose now has ginger as well as the balsa wood and oranges. The body is warmer - that ginger note really coming through, along with hints of incense candles. The finish is now bigger - vanilla, toffee and ginger.

A decent dram that needs some water - one for discussion amongst whisky fans.
