SMWS 13.58 - Remains of the Earl GreyThe nose has barley sugar water, Kendal mint cake and hints of papaya. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has dried apple, pineapple, lemon and tea chests. The finish has tea chests, cinnamon and lemon.

Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding whorling that lingers briefly before dissipating. The nose gains dry, dusty earth on summer trails. The body gains rosewater, more pineapple and the lemon is less pronounced. The finish gains pineapple and loses the cinnamon.

A superb dram for spring evenings or summer afternoons in the shade.

Technical score: 3/5

Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
