SMWS 139.2 - A tropical affairThe nose has green apples, pineapple, pear, lychee, hardwood flooring, and hints of linseed oil. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has pear, pineapple, oak shavings, linseed oil and herbal hints. The finish has pear, pineapple and oak shavings.

Water brings out thick whorling that dissipates quickly without mottling. The nose gains more lychee and apple, and loses some of the pineapple. The body gains kiwi fruit and loses some of the pineapple and linseed oil. The finish gains more pineapple and some lychee.

An intense and tropical whisky with plenty of fruit flavours nicely balanced with wood.

One for summer afternoons.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
