26.114 - "Grandma's summer jam recipe"

11 years old, distilled 16th June 2003, 61.0% abv, first fill ex-bourbon barrel, 238 bottles

DSC_0212The nose has silver polish, vanilla, damson, soft toffee and coffee. The mouthfeel is thin and a little astringent. The body has lemon, coconut, and both the soft toffee and coffee from the nose. The finish is citronella and liquorice, and is short.

Water brings out tight, short lived and compact whorling. The nose now has a little more fruit - lemon, strawberry, damson. The body has also gained strawberries, and some cinnamon and cardamom notes towards the end. The finish is cinnamon, lemon and liquorice.

A very pleasant summer's day dram.
