27.108 - "A savoury experience!"

14 years old, distilled 31st March 2000, 53.2% abv, refill ex-bourbon barrel, 174 bottles

Doughy bread, baked tomatoes and basil on the nose, along with a hint of fish. The mouth-feel is decent - neither thick nor thin, but nicely coating. The body has vinegar, chutney, and a little sea salt. The finish is sweet and sharp - vanilla, with hints of sea salt and onions.

Water brings thick whorling that expands into a large mottling - very good. The nose now has a little pickled onion, and the body has more chutney and vinegar. The finish is sweeter, with a hint of cinnamon.

A decent dram for a hip flask and a long walk.
