3.239 - "Acrylic paints and petrichor"

16 years old, distilled 25th September 1998, 57.6% abv, refill ex-bourbon barrel, 134 bottles

The nose has charcoal, heather and soft smoke. The mouth-feel is clean, with a little lingering towards the back of the mouth. The body brings sweetness - lavender, mango, violets and a hint of lemon zest. The finish has smoke, lemon and vanilla.

Water brings thin, tight whorling that lasts pleasingly. The nose now has the petrichor, and brings the lemon notes and some vanilla ice-cream to the nose. The body has more smoke, with the floral notes moving to the finish.

A great dram for an evening by the shore.
