24 years old, distilled 25th October 1991, 57.6% abv, second-fill ex-bourbon hogshead, 228 bottles

The nose has polished oak, cinnamon, creme brulee, apricot and vanilla. The mouthfeel is thick and smooth, with a little cling. The body has green apples, apricot, cinnamon, vanilla, and some hints of honey. The finish is cinnamon dusting and polished oak.

Water brings out thick, expanding whorling that settles but doesn’t mottle. The nose now loses the cinnamon, but gains green apples and hints of sultanas. The body is also fruitier, with the cinnamon and vanilla taking a back seat. The finish gains apricot.

A great fireside dram.
