36.83 - "Warm apple tart"

11 years old, distilled 23rd April, 57.6% abv, first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, 250 bottles

The nose is fruity and light - apples, pears, white grapes, and then a hint of fennel. The mouth-feel is clean, smooth and doesn't coat. The body has cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, raisins and green apples. The finish is sweet and sharp, vanilla and apple tarts.

Water brings thin, lingering whorling that mottles the bottom of the glass pleasingly. The nose now has pastry notes added - apple strudel? The body has less apple, less cinnamon and more raisins and sultanas, and the finish gains a slightly wine-ish note.

A wonderful light sweet whisky to watch a game of cricket with on a hot summer's day.
