10 years old, distilled 17th February 2007, 60.1% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 181 bottles, dram price B

The nose has honey, cinnamon, ginger and hints of tea chests. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has oranges, coconut, tea chests and then ginger and hints of chilli towards the finish. The finish has cinnamon, chilli and ginger. Not quite too much, but somewhat spicy!

Water brings out thin, compact whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains coconut and more of the tea chests, and loses some of the ginger. The body gains more orange notes, and loses the cinnamon. The finish gains tea chests and oranges, and loses the cinnamon and chilli (but the ginger is still there).

A superb dram, very much rescued by water for me. One for autumnal evenings.

Technical score: 4/5 (3/5 without water)

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
