SMWS 4.290 - Smoked Venison CrostinoThe nose has heather and bonfire smoke, with hints of rough leather. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon sherbet, vanilla, rough leather, heather honey and distant bonfire smoke. The finish has lemon sherbet and bonfire smoke.

Water brings out thick, compact whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains hints of lemon and sherbet. The body gains more lemon and some hints of hazelnut. The finish gains a little more smoke.

A pleasant lightly peated dram.

One for autumnal evenings.

Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
