15 years old, distilled 24th August 1999, 55.4% abv, refill ex-sherry butt, 261 bottles

The nose is sweet - vanilla, custard and sawdust. As it sits, the sweetness disappears quite quickly and it heads towards cardboard. The mouth-feel is light and sharp, quite zesty. The body has pepper, cinnamon, lemon juice and a hint of liquorice towards the back. The finish is liquorice then vanilla and grass notes.

Water brings thin, big whorling that disappears quickly. The nose now has more vanilla sweetness and some slight lemon. The body has a little chilli and pear alongside the vanilla, and the finish is grassier.

A decent dram for a picnic.
