The nose has vanilla, menthol, and hints of raspberry and green apple. The mouthfeel is thin with a little cling. The body has vanilla, coconut, raspberry, mango and ginger towards the end. The finish is long and drying - raspberry and mango, and lots of ginger.
Water brings out tight, thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into lingering mottling. The nose gains some mango, and loses the green apple. The body gains a little more mango and some nutmeg towards the end, but the ginger is a little diminished. The finish unchanged - still drying, but a little less intense.
A decent dinner dram.
3.5/5 (If the unwatered experience were as mellow as the watered experience, this would have gained at least a half point, possibly a full point.)
