13 years old, distilled 25th November 2002, 58.3% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 216 bottles

The nose has icing sugar boiled sweets, dolly mixture and mint leaves on an ice-cream dessert. The mouthfeel is thin with little cling. The body has lots of fruit - but none that I could identify. Like a punchbowl at a student party, where you're sure the fruit is just there to mask the fact that everyone's spiked the punch... The finish is long and sweet with hints of pineapple and mango.

Water brings out thick, expanding whorling that settles into mottling for a short while. The nose now has more fruit - red apples, pineapple, banana. The body is similarly changed, with much more distinction to the flavours. The finish is unchanged.

A cracking dram for elevenses.
