The nose has honey, hazelnut nougat, soft leather, toffee, and hints of a flower shop. The mouthfeel is decent but has little cling. The body has honey, lime, soft leather, and moves towards lavender and violets. The finish is honey, lavender and violets.
Water brings out tight, thin, rapidly expanding whorling that barely mottles. The nose gains pear and hints of rosewater, and loses the hazelnut. The body gains more lavender and some ginger, and loses a little lime. The finish gains crystallised ginger.
Sublime. The flavours, the delivery, the integration - it's a stunning dram. If I could score it more highly, I would.
One for celebrations (with fellow whisky enthusiasts!).
Technical score: 5/5
Personal preference: I'd like more than one bottle.
