SMWS 50.109 - Mangroves and marshmallowsThe nose has mango, melon and tinned pineapples with hints of baked apple. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has mango, melon, fresh pineapple juice, green apples, custard creams and a hint of cinnamon. The finish has vanilla, fresh pineapple juice and a hint of cinnamon.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into very brief mottling. The nose gains honey and more melon, and loses the pineapple. The body gains more pineapple, honey and marshmallow, but loses the green apples and custard creams. The finish gains honey and a little more cinnamon.

A gentle fruit bomb, with a touch of spice.

One for summer afternoons.

Technical score: 4.5/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
