The nose has cooked apples and bananas and hints of crumble topping. The mouthfeel is thin with a little cling. The body has toffee and caramel, with apples and hints of lemon. The finish is long - caramel and a soft lemon note.
Water brings out thin, compact whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains lemon notes, with hints of cinnamon. The body gains more lemon and more of the caramel. The finish gains some red apple.
This is a big, full-flavoured dram, for fireplaces and friends.
(Note: This is the first bottling in the new black label used for more expensive drams.)
