14 years old, distilled 11th October 2000, 58.9% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 224 bottles

The nose has peaches, "Spring fresh" fabric softener (fresh grass, dandelions), soft lemon, honey, pine sap and a growing hint of mint leaves. The mouthfeel is decent, with a little cling. The body has lemon, peach, grass and dandelion. The finish is sweet with lemon, peach and pine sap.

Water brings out thin, tight whorl that expands into decent mottling. The nose now has more pine sap and grass, less lemon. There's also more flower notes - like a meadow. The body gains some fizziness - like lemon sherbet - and more pine sap. The finish is unchanged.

A superb light Auchentoshan, for a hot summer's day.
