Water brings out thick whorling that rapidly expands before settling quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains dried fruits (sultanas, raisins) and loses the toffee. The body loses the wood shavings, and gains apple and hints of tobacco. The finish is unchanged.
A dram that balances spice with wood and fruit well - perhaps with ice-cream?
