The nose has feinty notes at first, then midget gems, then herbal notes (thyme and basil) and finally some sawdust. The mouthfeel is very smooth and has a little coating. The body has a little heat, but not too much. There's salted caramels, herb gardens, and a little hint of copper. The finish is short, with caramel and vanilla.
Water brings out thin, short-lived whorling. The nose now has slightly stronger herbal notes, and has gained a little lemon. The body has become quieter, with less heat and more herbs. The finish is unchanged.
An interesting, young dram - spirited, and suitable for a midday tipple on a very hot day.
