8 years old, distilled 8th February 2010, 60.9% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 238 bottles, dram price A
The nose has lemon, pears and foamy bananas. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has lemon, pear, marzipan, and hints of lime and cinnamon. The finish has lemon and marzipan with a little cinnamon.
Water brings out thin, compact whorling that barely settles before dissipating. The nose gains candied oranges and lemons, and loses the foamy bananas. The body gains more pear and candied lemon. The finish gains some lemon.
Not complex, yet delicious nonetheless.
One for summer afternoons.
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
