SMWS 6.30 - A stealthy luncheon tippleThe nose has boiled sweets, a meadow on a hot summer’s day, peaches and apricots. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has peaches, apricots, soft caramel, and a hint of dusty earth. The finish has tinned peaches and caramel.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains more peach and some lemon, and loses the meadow notes. The body gains lemon and loses the apricots. The finish gains lemon, and some cinnamon spice as it dries.

A decent, youthful, fresh dram that works very well.

One for summer mornings.

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
