8 years old, distilled 30th March 2010, 57.8% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 235 bottles, dram price A

The nose has honey, lavender, heather and a hint of toffee. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has toffee, honey, lavender and raspberries. The finish has raspberries and honey on toffee.

Water brings out tight, thin whorling that rapidly expands but doesn't quite settle into mottling. The nose gains peach and hints of orange, and loses the heather and lavender. The body gains pineapple and peach, with some spicy notes - cinnamon?. The finish gains cinnamon and peach, and loses much of the raspberry.

A surprising dram that got a little too spicy for me with water, but has a great selection of flavours.

One for summer afternoons.
