SMWS 70.31 - Village of the drammedThe nose has oranges, sherry and hints of caramel. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has sherry, caramel and a little hint of bourbon biscuits. The finish has sherry and caramel with a hint of orange peel.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains biscotti and jammy dodgers, and loses the oranges. The body gains biscotti and orange peel. The finish gains a little hint of cinnamon and more orange peel.

A very nice heavier whisky - not too sherried, but this cask definitely did a lot of work!

One for autumn evenings.

Technical score: 3.5/5

Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
