25 years old, distilled 11th December 1989, 56.9% abv, second fill ex-port barrique, 253 bottles
(This spent the first 20 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, then the last five in the port barrique.)
The nose has pineapple, red apples, and a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is smooth but with little cling. The body has vanilla, oranges, soft leather and raisins. The finish is long, with oranges and a hint of white wine.
Water brings out tight, thin whorling that is very short lived. The nose now gains toffee, and a touch of dessicated strawberry. The body has gained some plum notes. The finish is more plum than oranges, but otherwise unchanged.
A decent dram that's as at home by a fireside as it is on a veranda.
