The nose has old oak chests and cedar, then cinnamon and fudge, and after a while some orange blossom and honey. A very complex nose! The mouthfeel is smooth and clean with a little cling. The body has cinder toffee, cedar wood, cinnamon, sultanas and raisins. The finish is sweet with cinnamon and toffee notes lingering for a short while.
Water brings out tight, rapidly expanding whorling that lingers as mottling at the bottom of the glass for quite a while. The nose has gained honeysuckle and tea chests, and the body gains soft leather and blackcurrant. The finish also gains blackcurrant.
A superb dram for breakfast. (An all-day breakfast, naturally.)
