71.54 - Cake dough reminiscenceThe nose has kiwi fruit, green apple, pears, lime and vanilla (custard?). The mouthfeel is decent with a little cling. The body has more of the fruits from the nose, plus fudge and pink wafers, and then the vanilla and oak notes hit as we go into the finish. The finish has the fruit, but heavy oak notes - new oak and vanilla.

Water brings out tight, compact whorling that sits nicely before dissipating. The nose gains rhubarb, fudge and loses the green apple. The body gains pine furniture, rhubarb and more lime. The finish gains more lime, some rhubarb and some fudge.

This was a lovely experience. The heavier, oaky notes are saved for the finish - it's worth noting that what makes this dram is the delivery more than the flavours...

A great dram for summer evenings.

Technical score: 4.5/5

Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
