The nose has toasted bread, cinnamon, old wooden furniture and a hint of pot-pourri. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has greenhouses, cinnamon, orange chew sweets, lime, lemon, and vanilla. The finish is cinnamon and lemon.
Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains more pot-pourri and loses the old wooden furniture. The body gains eucalyptus and more lime, but loses the orange and the greenhouses. The finish gains more cinnamon.
A little too much cinnamon after water, but this has a superb collection of flavours and delivers them very nicely.
One for summer mornings, with your porridge.
Technical score: 3.5/5
Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
