31 years old, distilled 27th November 1984, 54.4% abv, Refill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead, 210 bottles

The nose has coconut, cinnamon, honey, Turkish Delight and hints of tobacco leaves. The mouthfeel is smooth, with a little cling. The body has cinnamon, tobacco, mango, toffee and hints of liquorice. The finish is long and sweet - cinnamon, honey, cloves and tobacco.

Water - added reluctantly - brings out thick, short-lived whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains mango and more tobacco. The body gains melon, candied oranges and loses some of the toffee. The finish is much the same.

A superb celebration dram.
