SMWS 72.76 - The desserted forestThe nose has pine air fresheners, new oak furniture and hard pears. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has pears, gooseberry and then oak furniture. The finish has oak furniture and pear.

Water brings out thin, compact whorling that lingers for a while as mottling. The nose gains gooseberry and caramel, and loses the pine. The body gains caramel, more pear and some cinnamon. The finish gains cinnamon.

A clean, well balanced and pleasant dram. The cinnamon in the watered finish wasn’t too warm, and I suspect I could drink a lot of this on a warm afternoon...

One for summer afternoons and hipflasks on holiday hikes...

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: I’d have another dram.
