The nose has fennel and thyme with bourbon biscuits and a little pear. The mouthfeel is decent with waxiness but no cling. The body has herb gardens, caramel and bourbon biscuits. The finish has caramel and herb gardens.
Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains more pear and loses the bourbon biscuits. The body gains more caramel and some pear, and loses the herb gardens. The finish gains pear and loses the herbs.
A quiet but decent dram.
One for summer mornings.
Technical score: 3/5
Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
