SMWS 77.55 - Sharp and tartThe nose has gooseberry, green apple and crystallised ginger. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has gooseberry and green apple with a little ginger and cinnamon. The finish is gooseberry, cinnamon and ginger beer.

Water brings out thin, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains vanilla and loses the ginger. The body gains vanilla and lime, and more cinnamon. The finish gains lime and more ginger.

A little too spicy for me in the finish, but a great set of flavours and nicely delivered.

One for autumn evenings.

Technical score: 4/5

Personal preference: Just the one dram, thanks.
