The nose has violets, rosewater and a little hint of old exotic wood. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has butterscotch, violets, lemon, balsa wood and custard creams. The finish has custard creams and lemon.
Water brings out thick, rapidly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains butterscotch and balsa wood, and loses some of the violets and rosewater. The body gains damson, peaches, and loses the balsa wood. The finish gains peaches and loses the lemon somewhat.
A lovely light dram with a little bit of wood, but not too much.
One for summer afternoons.
Technical score: 4/5
Personal preference: I'd have another dram.
