84.16 - "A beaker full of the warm south"

13 years old, distilled 4th October 2001, 56.6% abv, refill ex-bourbon barrel, 184 bottles

Meadow flowers, honey and toffee on the nose. The mouth-feel is smooth and coating. The body has vanilla ice-cream, hard toffees, lychee and a touch of blackcurrant towards the back of the mouth. The finish is sweet, long and has vanilla and blackcurrant.

Water brings tights whorling that lazily spreads into lingering mottling - superb. The nose is now less floral, with a hint of cereal amongst the previous flavours. The body adds lemon juice, and the finish gains the same lemon note.

A great dram, which you should save for an occasion.
