10 years old, distilled 22nd June 2006, 59.4% abv, First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 234 bottles
The nose has sultanas, pineapple, brown sugar and pear. The mouthfeel is thin with a little cling. The body has pineapple, brown sugar, cinnamon, and then lavender as it moves into the finish. The finish itself is lavender and oak tables.
Water brings out thick, quickly expanding whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose now gains a little lavender, and loses the sultanas and brown sugar. The body gains more lavender, loses the brown sugar and gains a hint of white pepper. The finish gains white pepper.
A fine dram, if a little peppery after water. The perfect dram for a summer evening by a beach bonfire.
