17 years old, distilled 30th June 1999, 53.4% abv, First-Fill Spanish Oak Oloroso Hogshead, 234 bottles, dram price B
The nose has Seville oranges, old leather, dark chocolate and hints of tobacco. The mouthfeel is thin with some cling. The body has coffee, dark chocolate, oranges and sherry. The finish is sherry and hints of dark chocolate.
Water brings out thin, tight, rapidly expanding whorling that settles quickly into brief mottling. The nose gains toffee pennies, and the body gains marzipan. The finish is unchanged.
A big, bold dram to finish the evening for the Islayphobe.
