The nose has sea breezes, mineral notes and a hint of chalk and farmyard. The mouthfeel is thin with no cling. The body has more sea breezes and then some soft caramel and hints of cinnamon. The finish is caramel and hints of farmyard.
Water brings out thick, compact whorling that settles into brief mottling. The nose gains toffee and hints of green apples and pears, but loses none of the original notes. The body gains more caramel and some hard pear. The finish gains pear and loses the farmyard.
A lovely coastal dram for autumn afternoons at the beach.
Technical score: 3.5/5
Personal preference: I'd like a bottle.
