SMWS 121.74 - "A box of chocs"

14 years old, distilled 2nd December 1999, 55.7% abv, refill ex-bourbon hogshead, 315 bottles

A sweet caramel nose - Tunnock's Caramel Wafers - and mango. The body is mango chutney and a hint of honeycomb. The mouthfeel is thin and a little coating. The finish is sweet and short - vanilla and honeycomb.

After water (which whorls nicely and tightly) the nose has more fruit - apricot and green apples. The body is lighter and fruitier - a little orange and apricot. There's also some heat towards the back of the palate, but not too much. The finish is much the same, which is no bad thing.

A good dram, suitable for watching the cricket on a lazy afternoon.
