SMWS 35.124 - "Seasons of mist and mellow fruitfulness"

10 years old, distilled 20th May 2003, 59.7% abv, first fill ex-bourbon cask, 239 bottles

The nose has cheap packing crates, lemon, apple and pineapple. The body has green apples, lemon, pineapple, pears and plenty of vanilla towards the back of the body. The mouth-feel is big and succulent. The finish is vanilla and green apple - granny smiths.

After water (which whorls splendidly and lasts a while) the nose has more vanilla and less fruit - no longer cheap packing crates, more like cheap vanilla ice-cream. A guilty pleasure! The body is even fruitier - like a combination of fruit juices. The finish is quieter - less fruit, more vanilla.

A nice dram for an autumn lunchtime.
